    Description

    1943 WW2/WWII COLLECTIBLE RAF (ROYAL AIR FORCE) LANCASTER BOMBERS NAVIGATOR BUBBLE SEXTANT IN CASE - ALL ORIGINAL
    MODEL # 6B/218 MK 1X A
    With original carrying case.
    Case has window on front with label. Label says:
    AM 6B/218 Bubble Sextant MK 1 A INDEX CORR. 0 No. 4177/43
    EQUIPMENT: The apparatus has letters and numbers marked on the side. The round piece attached to the back of it measures about 4" diameter. It has a small dent on it. The glass center of the eyepiece is 1" and rubber flange around it is 2-1/2". Both seem to be in good shape with no cracks or dry rot. Overall height of entire unit is 6-3/4". Width is 6-1/4" including the  parts extruding from sides. Core is about 2" wide. Sextant is fairly clean and has little corrosion. It appears to have been properly stored.
    There are extra pieces that fit in the bottom of the case that may also be made of Bakelite and have no cracks. The two cylinder shaped pieces are 3-7/8" long by 1-1/8" by 1-3/16" diameter. Power cylinder piece with attached wire is 4-1/2" long. Small round disc part is 1-1/2" in diameter by about 1/4" wide. This part fits on another piece built inside box. Pieces are in good shape.
    Unique bell shape case looks/smells like Bakelite. Has 2 heavy duty steel latches to keep closed and carrying strap. It's attached but torn in half. Has 3 steel loopholes fastened at back/bottom of base. There’s one shown in the photo with the latches.
    Measures about 10" high by 8" wide (across front) by 10-1/2" deep. (top front to back)
    CONDITION:
    In regards to overall condition, it is an old vintage, untouched, collectible. We did not visually find any broken parts or pieces and can not confirm if any parts or pieces are missing. We do not know how to test it so can not confirm if it works. Sold "as it is". A wonderful piece of history to collect.
    Small parts are wrapped inside case. Case is secured in bubble wrap for safe transport. Pre-ship weight is approx. 11-1/2 lbs. before packing.

    FRAGILE ITEMS are wrapped securely in bubble wrap, packing paper, & may be double boxed. Parcels are marked  "FRAGILE". Ship insurance included. High value & extremely rare items will require Buyer's signature to confirm delivery. Please note: we use strong packing tape for secure shipping so use extra care to unwrap items.
    If an item is delivered DAMAGED from shipping, notify Seller right away. Send us 5 CLEAR, close up photos to show damage. Include photos of ship label & show any damage on ship box used to ship item. Seller will file USPS claim on insurance to get reimbursed & process a refund to Buyer. Buyer MUST hold onto both damaged item & original box until USPS claim is processed or until notice from Seller who will advise Buyer when it's okay to dispose of it. This is important because USPS may request to inspect the broken item. If this should occur, Buyer must bring the broken item in original box to their post office or seal box & give it to their mail carrier. After sealing box, attach a note outside of box:
