Vintage F.A.O. Schwarz Toy Store Bone China Child’s Tea Set with Plates~Classic. Condition is "New"
This is a childs bone china tea set, F.A.O. Schwarz Toy Store, made in Japan.
I had a very similar pattern, which I used with my Grandmother for tea and biscuits, or small little pieces of cheese, cut into cubes…special moments, I remember them well. That set I treasure !
There is nothing quite like a tea party with your Grandmother , even my bear, from F.A.O., a Steiff growler, would join us. On occasion, my brother or my mother. Those tea parties were very, very treasured moments, and made me feel like I was a very special little girl…and so grown up..
We used to go to F.A.O. Schwarz Toy Store, in NYC , at least once a year, and always before Christmas…it was always such an incredible day..sometimes we would spend the night and go to Radio City Music Hall, as well.
So this set is not my “special set”, but just ike it…( except for pattern )
My Grandmother had bought an extra set, for some reason…she loved china of all types…she was from Ireland, so tea was always on the table..
I hope someone realizes the importance of those special moments, that should be shared with a young girl, and even her brother or her bear…
It has the teapot with lid, creamer and sugar, 5 cups and saucers and 6 snack plates…
When they were packed away, one of the tea cups broke…so, I will include the extra tea saucer…
As you can tell by the teapot spout, it is new..( the rubber protector has discolored with age ) as is the rest of the set.
