    Description

Performing two functions, this vintage aluminum vanity box holds powder and plays music.
It was made by the Swiss company, D.I. Alpen, and measures approximately 2 ¾” in height with a 5 1/8” diameter.  Featured on the lid is a romantic silhouette of an 18th century couple.  The musical mechanism is in good working order and is housed within the box while the metal windup is located on the base.
When wound, and after the lid is removed the musical tune, “The Girl That I Marry”, plays.
Three plastic feet, the company mark, “D.I. Alpen”, and the title of the tune are located on the base.
The aluminum parts of the box appear to have a pinkish-gold tint.
Despite some minor scuffs and scratches and some wear to the plastic coating on the inside of the lid, this musical powder box is in very good condition with no other evidence of damage or flaws.
