A very fine and rare Original ROSS, New Bond Street, London, TRAVEL COMPENDIUM, made ca. 1910. This Sea Captain's Travel Case, Patent 33236, includes a gilt brass 8-day clock, thermometer and barometer. Accompanied by the original leather travel case with stand. Two-body, leather with folding cover and foldable stand, 2 gilt revolving cases for the clock and barometer, winding crown for the clock, for the thermometer revolving inner bezel, the thermometer between both is on a white plate with black painted scale. The dial is silver with Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Luminous Blued Steel Spade Hands. Barometer: Cream painted with black barometric scale. Blued Steel Arrow Pointer. Gilt, 17 Jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Dials signed. Weight including travel case 1.209 kg. Diameter: 75 mm. Thickness: 35 mm. Travel case: stamped gold company logo on the back side. Good condition. A true and very rare Collector's Find!
