COOL LOOM TOOL !
My kids love their Rainbow Loom.  It is the " PERFECT TOY ".
It certainly gets a LOT of playtime.
It keeps them off the electronics, teaches them hand eye coordination, lets them be creative etc...
The original Rainbow Loom is the best of all the loom kits.
Yes there are plenty of knock off products out there i.e.  wonderloom, bandaloom, funloom, DIY etc...
Although we highly recommend the Rainbow Loom brand for all the right reasons, our hook will work with all the kits.
Unfortunately, the hook tool that comes with all the kits is made of plastic and tends to bend and break.
The thin end of the tool breaks off mostly due to the pressure of pushing the rubber bands down.
Pushing the rubber bands down
is
regularly required to make room for other rubber bands on the posts.
I have seen first hand how disappointed a child can get when the tool breaks.
All activity comes to a halt until a new one is purchased.
When your tool breaks, you can buy another one but it will likely eventually break also.
HERE IS THE SOLUTION !!!
This is a small steel crochet hook that works just as well as the original plastic hook.
The main difference is that
it won't break !
In fact, you can use either end of our metal tool to push down on the rubber bands without fear of bending or breaking it.
My 8 & 12 year old girls have done a really nice job designing around this crochet hook.
First, they added a comfort grip made with their Rainbow Loom kits.  This makes the metal crochet hook very comfortable to hold.
Second, they added an attachment that we call the THINGER to keep the hook attached to your hand.
Third, they initially chose multiple colors to resemble a rainbow.
This is quite appropriate given that the product is called Rainbow Loom.
Now we have several designs to suit many tastes, countries, teams and occasions.
BTW  We ONLY use authentic Rainbow Loom Brand rubber bands.  If you use those knock offs, you will find that some are too thick, too thin, too stretchy, different colors, easy to break, etc...
And if you mix and match, your end resulting product will be an inconsistent pattern.
Recommend you only use the Rainbow Loom brand rubber bands.  Buy them on line at "rainbow loom dot com".

The THINGER is 2 rubber bands added to the comfort grip.
You can attach either of the rubber bands to your

umb or f
INGER
( THINGER ) whichever is more comfortable to you.
When attached, you don't have to put your tool down while working.
You can use both your hands and all your fingers to grab other bands, move the base around, turn the pages of a book, type on the computer etc...
You don't have to put the tool down.  You don't drop the tool.  You are far less likely to misplace or lose the tool.
If the THINGER breaks, it is easy to fix with your own rubber bands.
If you don't like the THINGER, it is easy to remove.

Thank you. Those cheep plastic hooks break all the time. I have two Rainbow Loom hooks, and last weekend, my old one broke, then yesterday my new one broke! But luckily I have a Crazy Loom hook to use in the mean time. I doubt that that stainless steel hook will break from a rubber band, in fact, the rubber band will break LONG before the hook!

If you have a broken plastic tool, do not throw it out if it has a Base Removal tool on the other end.
The base removal tool can be handy.
