The Nippon Art Collection features the Hira Maki-e technique depicting a Crane and Turtle. The pen has 14K gold medium nib, fills via cartridge/converter, and comes packaged in a velvet-line wooden box. Hira maki-e lacquered pen is designed with sprinkled gold and silver powders. Several additional layers of lacquer are then applied. After the lacquer is hardened, it is then burnished to give shiny black finish.
