Namiki Description:
Produced entirely in the Hiratsuka, Japan workshops, and is of the finest quality
lacquer work in the world.
The Emperor is produce using 10 lacquer coating over a three month period. The multiple layers of Urushi
(sap from Japanese lacquer trees) are applied to the pen's surface, giving it a highly lustrous, durable
exterior. Namiki craftsmen have used this technique since the company beginnings in 1918. In 1925, the
process was patented by Namiki.
