by combining designs with various techniques such as Togidashi-Taka Maki-e (Burnished-Raised Maki-e) and Raden (Mother-of-Pearl).

The Namiki Yukari Pigeon Persimmon Fountain Pen has an understated elegance because Togidashi makie is applied skilfully on the persimmon and the pigeon to give it less glimmer but more grace.  The symbol of a pigeon symbolizes one’s determination and the ability to overcome whatever obstacles lie in a person’s path. Pigeons are also connected to the symbol of house and home.
The theme of having thin branches of the persimmon tree hanging under the weight of the ripe, ready to pick persimmon shows skills on the part of the artist composition. Background shows traces of maru pun gold powder sprinkled on the background giving it some depth.
