    NAMIKI 2002 EMPEROR SAILING BOAT LIMITED EDITION FOUNTAIN PEN WITH #50 18K GOLD MEDIUM NIB Namiki Sailing Boat Limited Edition Fountain Pen the Namiki Sailing Boat is inspired by the "Shuin-sen" vessels - ship that were allowed to leave Japan and trade overseas. Ships during this time had to be authorized or they would be considered pirate ships and would be punished accordingly. These "Shuin-sen" vessels traveled south towards Indochina and set up "Japan towns" for trading. The "Shuin-sen" vessels would travel a month at a time in the ocean and would use the season winds to fill their sails. The Namiki Sailing Boat is created using different types of Maki-e techniques. This extremely rare masterpiece was artfully decorated and signed by Master Maki-e artist Masato Sato. The Precision 18k gold nib and filling system delivers an exceptional writing experience. The presentation box is urushi lacquered and features the Sailing Boat on top in maki-e as well.

    Namiki Emperor Sailing Boat Limited Edition Fountain Pen made with time honored Japanese Togidashi maki-e technique, the highest form of Japanese maki-e, decorates the Sailing Boat motif with a charcoal burnish effect of golden mellow and jim maki-e are evident on the barrel and cap which gave the pen the golden glitter. Completing the Sailing Boat profile with a high relief is the taka-maki-e creates the 3 dimensional effect.
    Only 73 creations of Namiki Emperor Sailing Boat Limited Edition Fountain Pens were made for the entire world which comes complete with certificate and ink bottle.
