    Description

Here is a beautiful vintage find: an empty powder box that contained loose face powder in the Naturelle shade by Coty. It was part of the Coty Air Spun Beauty Powder product line, which included powders scented with various Coty fragrances and packaged in color-coded boxes. The powder in this box was scented with the Emeraude fragrance, and the it features the colorful pattern used for Emeraude packaging in the 1940s.
The box is 1 and 5/8ths inches tall. It is 3.25 inches in diameter when measured across the base. The inside still carries the scent of Emeraude, even though it's empty. If you have seen similar-looking Emeraude powder boxes before, you know that they are usually made entirely of cardboard and that they can become rather worn-looking from normal handling. This is the kind of box that has clear plastic protecting the cardboard lid, and that has helped keep the box stain-free and dry. It has also kept the colors vibrant. Only the underside of the box shows some wear, and it's fairly minor tabletop wear at that.
Another neat thing about this box is the shade of orange used on the lid. Most of the all-cardboard vintage Emeraude powder boxes from this time period have a similar multi-colored pattern on the lid, but they use yellow instead such a bright shade of orange. So if you collect these old Emeraude powder boxes and don't already own this brighter variant, this will be different from the others. The ninth photo attached to this listing shows an example of an Emeraude powder box that doesn't make use of the bright orange color. This photo is for your visual reference only; I have already sold this powder box on Etsy, so it's not for sale and I'm just attaching the photo here so you can compare the difference in color.

I do my best to provide accurate, honest descriptions of every item, including any imperfections I find.  All items are sold as-is, and returns are not accepted unless I have made an error in the listing or neglected to disclose a significant item flaw. Therefore, if you have any questions not answered by the description or photos, please contact me before you bid or buy.
If an item still has the original box, I always include the box in the photo(s).  All items are stored in a dimly lit, arid, smoke-free, temperature-controlled storage unit.  Items may be briefly exposed to light when I photograph them for eBay, but they are returned to storage immediately afterward.
