    Description

    I bought this piece some 35 years ago at an antique event at the Timonium, MD Fairgrounds. I saw it, loved it, but didn't buy it at . Since they stamp your hand after you buy a ticket, I was allowed back in for free the following day.  I prayed I could find the vendor among the many that were there and that no one had bought this item.
    I found the vendor and they still had this one of a kind powder puff! So you may ask: Why are you selling? Answer: My mom passed away last October and I took many of her things that are sentimental to me.  I'm getting rid of my things in favor of hers which are more sentimental to me.
    The porcelain lady has crazing, but it's only visible on close examination. The billowy shirt around her waist is silk. In her hands she holds what appears to be flowers, not well detailed. On the bottom of the puff there are a few white specks... most likely powder mixed with facial oils.
    I am not sure about the age of this piece. I'm sure there are experts on this. I estimate this to be at least from the 1920's if not earlier.
    I have displayed this in my smoke-free home away from direct sunlight. Thanks for looking!
