Beautiful antique gilt wood and gesso lidded box with glass insert. May be a powder box.
I have never seen anything like this, and its pretty hard not to keep!
Lovely gesso ribbons and basket of flowers. Gorgeous foliate lid.
The wood and a bit of the gesso has cracked but it is not falling apart by any means. Glass insert is perfect.
Measures just over 6 inches across. Felt on bottom.
