    4375 Poplar box newel posts
    have a pedestal size of 4-3/4" and an overall length of 62".  Hardwood wall is 3/4" with the main shank at 4-3/4".   Poplar is the best choice for a paint grade newel with its tight grain and economical cost.  It can also be stained dark to match walnut, mahogany and Brazilian cherry hardwoods.
    The 4375 Box Newels are made with lock mitered corners, which means they have no end grains, developing elegance.  This newel post is also available as a half-post.
