selling a 1998 Mercury 115hp shaft 20" inch shaft length model number 115ELPTO. Motor has power tilt and trim and is also oil injected. Last of the super reliable, simple and light weight 2 stroke
Motor was just removed at the outboard dealer and being replaced with a new four stroke and is now ready to be placed back into service. Only the motor alone with no propeller or controls is being sold in this auction. again, motor only no prop. I still have a stainless steel prop and controls in my possession for this motor if needed contact me.
Motor was used in salt water and has rust on the lower motor mounts. The lower motor mount is still working fine and can be left as is or it can be replaced but wanted it noted. The paint and decals are also faded from the Florida sun. This is purely cosmetic but again, wanted it noted.
Now for the good news, motor starts right up and runs strong with dead even 120lbs compression which is what it comes with when new, Pumps plenty of water and tilt and trim works fine with the trim motor being recently replaced and lower unit shifts fine.
The motor is not pretty therefore, it's being priced accordingly. This is a smart buy for the educated buyer since its being sold cheap and with some TLC and elbow grease it can look nice again. The important thing is, motor runs strong and has great compression again, 120lbs! never broken, rebuilt or taken apart which is how you want to buy a used motor.
