Description
1939 to 1944 The Card Collectors Bulletin issues #1-30 Jefferson Burdick., Charles Bray. Extraordinary museum-worthy volume of early hobby history.Bound volume of THIRTY issues of The Card Collectors Bulletin issues (#1 through #30) dating from August 1, 1939 to 1944 The Card Collectors Bulletin, which was conceived and produced by Jefferson Burdick with Charles Bray, was first issued on August 1, 1939, with the goal "to be of every possible service to the hobby." A total of thirty issues (#1 through # 30) are housed inside this volume (6 x 9 inches). Each Card Collectors Bulletin is approximately 8 to 12 pages.
Burdick produced each issue with punch holes to allow for easy storage within the same cover held in place by metal clasps. All types of card collecting information (articles, checklists, commentary, advertising) are provided in these historic early organized hobby publications. This is the first complete set of issues #1 through #30 I personally have ever encountered.
Condition: The condition of the cover is very weak (due to some long ago exposure to elements) BUT with few exceptions overall the interior pages have survived beautifully and are VERY GOOD. (The cover is deceiving!) A few hints of long ago light moisture exposure can be found on a few interior pages (the worst couple pages I included in photos; these are exceptions and still ok) but overall the pages of the actual issues are very clean and free of problems, with the problems that can be found being of little or no consequence. Numerous period notations relating to collecting and various sets can be found (which themselves are extremely interesting, and no doubt are in the hand of one of the greats of pioneer collectors who contributed to the The Card Collectors Bulletin).
