    Description

A small early circular two-piece empty wooden box, approximately 2.5 inches in diameter, that once held Mary Stuart Face Powder, manufactured in Utica New York by W.R.B. Hackett. Probably from the 1880s. The top of the lid has a lithographed label with a portrait of the Queen, Mary Stuart, and around the edge is lithographed text, including the small image of a cherub riding a tiger, the company logo. This, and the lid label, were lithographed in Buffalo New York by the Courier Lith Co whose credit line is on the bottom section. In good original condition for such a fragile object, with minor losses and age deterioration. For details, please see the attached photos.
