Important!
PVC pipe sizes are based on the inside diameter of the PVC pipe. Here's some basic information to make sure that you order the proper PVC fitting sizes:
Read the Pipe:
Read the markings on the outside of your PVC pipe. It should state the size in either fractional or decimal on the pipe, such as 3/4" or .75", 1-1/4" or 1.25", etc. This is the size of fitting you need to order for your project. Pipes marked with CPVC or CTS are not compatible with PVC Builder fittings
Measure the Pipe:
Measure the outside diameter of your PVC pipe (measure from top to bottom), then cross reference your measured outside diameter to the actual size in the chart below:
If the pipe outside diameter (OD) measures:
